General visitors and invited guests to Cornell Tech’s interior spaces are required to wear an approved face mask at all times regardless of vaccination status. This includes all Café patrons, unless they are actively eating or drinking.

Only faculty, staff, academics, and PhD students with assigned desks are permitted to host visitors past the Bloomberg Center lobby turnstiles or into any Cornell Tech academic/office space. All others are encouraged to utilize the outdoor campus spaces and/or the Café area to meet with guests.

Currently, invited guests over 12 years of age seeking access beyond the Bloomberg Center lobby turnstiles or into any Cornell Tech academic/office spaces will be required to show proof of full vaccination upon checking in with the Bloomberg Center security desk. Fully vaccinated means it has been more than 14 days since the last dose of an FDA or WHO approved vaccine (Pfizer, Moderna, J&J, AstraZeneca, Sinovac, Sinopharm). Cornell Tech will not collect or maintain any medical records, proof of vaccination will be visually verified upon arrival. The following will be accepted as proof of vaccination:

  • NYS Excelsior Pass
  • NYC COVID Safe App
  • CDC vaccination card
  • Vaccination certificates (US and International)
  • Cornell University Daily Check homepage
  • Other vaccination passport programs

In order to be accepted, the above must contain the attendee’s full name, date of birth, vaccine brand, date of final dose, and be accompanied by a valid form of government or school photo ID. Physical paper documentation and/or digital versions will be accepted.

Visitors to Cornell Tech outdoor spaces are not required to wear a face mask if they are fully vaccinated. Unvaccinated visitors must wear a face mask outdoors when physical distancing is not possible. However, unvaccinated visitors are strongly encouraged to wear a face mask regardless of physical distancing.

Face masks are available at the security desk at no cost. It is the responsibility of the Cornell Tech host to ensure that any guest is in compliance with all Cornell Tech COVID-19 health and safety measures.

The House at Cornell Tech is under a modified guest/visitor policy due to COVID-19 safety concerns. Only immediate family members (parents, siblings, spouse/partners) and caregivers (childcare) are allowed to visit any amenity or apartment spaces or stay overnight in The House. In shared apartments all apartment mates must indicate that they are in agreement with an overnight stay of a visitor who meets this criteria by contacting We appreciate your attention to this safety measure as we have many families with children who are not able to be vaccinated and their safety as well as the safety of all residents is important for the entire community.
