General visitors and invited guests to Cornell Tech’s interior public spaces are required to wear a face covering at all times regardless of vaccination status. This includes all Cafe patrons, unless they are actively eating or drinking.
Invited guests seeking access beyond the Bloomberg Center lobby turnstiles or into any Cornell Tech academic/office spaces will be required to show proof of full vaccination upon checking in with the Bloomberg Center security desk. Vaccination status may be confirmed digitally or via hard copy documentation. If proof of vaccination cannot be provided, the invited guest must present a negative non-rapid COVID-19 PCR test taken within the previous 72 hours. Vaccination status may also be conferred via written attestation. A face covering is required regardless of vaccination status.
Currently, only faculty, staff, academics, and PhD students with assigned desks are permitted visitors past the Bloomberg Center lobby turnstiles or into any Cornell Tech academic/office space. All others are encouraged to utilize the outdoor campus spaces and/or the Cafe area to meet with guests.
Visitors to Cornell Tech outdoor spaces are not required to wear a face covering if they are fully vaccinated. Unvaccinated visitors must wear a face covering outdoors when social distancing is not possible. However, unvaccinated visitors are strongly encouraged to wear a face covering regardless of social distancing.
Face coverings are available at the security desk at no cost. It is the responsibility of the Cornell Tech host to ensure that any guest is in compliance with all Cornell Tech COVID-19 health and safety measures.
The House at Cornell Tech is under a modified guest/visitor policy due to COVID-19 safety concerns. Only immediate family members (parents, siblings, spouse/partners) and caregivers (childcare) are allowed to visit any amenity or apartment spaces or stay overnight in The House. In shared apartments all apartment mates must indicate that they are in agreement with an overnight stay of a visitor who meets this criteria by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org. We appreciate your attention to this safety measure as we have many families with children who are not able to be vaccinated and their safety as well as the safety of all residents is important for the entire community.
This policy is subject to change based on evolving data and public health guidance, please check back frequently for updated information.
