When do classes start?
Cornell Tech follows the university academic calendar. Classes will start on Monday, August 22, 2022.
Which COVID-19 vaccines meet the university immunization requirement for students?
New York State and Cornell both accept COVID vaccines authorized or approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the World Health Organization (WHO), which currently include:
- AstraZeneca-Oxford (e.g., Covishield, Vaxzevria)
- Covaxin
- Convidecia (CanSinoBIO)
- Covovax
- Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) COVID-19 vaccine
- Moderna
- Novavax
- Pfizer-BioNTech (e.g., COMIRNATY, Tozinameran) can also be noted as BNT1626
- Sinopharm (Vero Cell)
- Sinovac (CoronaVac, Vero Cell)
As soon as you are vaccinated, you should upload your information in the Cornell Tech student Vaccine Submission Form.
Do I need to quarantine if I am travelling and unvaccinated?

What if I can’t get vaccinated before arrival?
Students who are unable to get their COVID vaccination because they lack access to accepted immunizations must contact Cornell Health’s Requirements Office before June 15 (July 31 for transfer students) to consult with staff and make a plan for meeting their health requirements as soon as they get to campus.
