Events & On-campus Gatherings
Cornell Tech is implementing protocols and policies to ensure all on campus events and gatherings are conducted in a manner that is most effective in maintaining a healthy and safe campus community.
In addition to complying with all Key to NYC requirements, Cornell Tech will require that all event attendees over 12 years of age be fully vaccinated. Fully vaccinated means it has been more than 14 days since the last dose of an FDA or WHO approved vaccine (Pfizer, Moderna, J&J, AstraZeneca, Sinovac, Sinopharm). In order to comply with the provisions of Key to NYC, there will be no option available to test out of the vaccination requirement. Individuals who are unable to comply with these requirements may request a reasonable accommodation from the Cornell Tech event organizer. Cornell Tech will try its best to provide a virtual experience alternative.
Proof of vaccination must be presented upon event check in. Cornell Tech will not collect or maintain any paper or digital medical records. It is the responsibility of the Cornell Tech event organizer to ensure that all proof of vaccination is visually verified upon event check in. The following will be accepted as proof of vaccination:
- NYS Excelsior Pass
- NYC COVID Safe App
- CDC vaccination card
- Vaccination certificates (US and International)
- Cornell University Daily Check homepage
- Other vaccination passport programs
In order to be accepted, the above must contain the attendee’s full name, date of birth, vaccine brand, date of final dose, and be accompanied by a valid form of government or school photo ID. Physical paper documentation and/or digital versions will be accepted.
Note: See special guidance for Cornell-sponsored winter gatherings. Cornell Tech will adopt this guidance for specific winter celebrations, however PCR testing will not be accepted in lieu of proof of full vaccination.
