What Is a Tech MBA?

The Johnson Cornell Tech degree, issued by the Johnson School, is an ideal option for leaders who’ll be working in and around the tech sector. In this full-time, one-year MBA program, you’ll gain foundational business knowledge before immersing in tech coursework and exploring electives related to your areas of interest.

One of the primary distinctions of the full-time Johnson Cornell Tech MBA is the Studio component. This interactive, interdisciplinary experience ensures that business students learn how to effectively collaborate with peers from other Cornell Tech programs ranging from law to engineering.

The Johnson Cornell Tech MBA admissions committee considers previous academic success, professional achievements, character, and professional promise.

Successful candidates have a passion for technology, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a collaborative attitude. They are critical thinkers, demonstrated leaders, skilled communicators, and excellent problem solvers.

We welcome candidates from a diversity of backgrounds with digital expertise grounded in full-time professional experiences in or adjacent to the tech industry. While desirable, a background in science, engineering, technology, or coding languages is not required for admission.
