Kathryn Guarini is a Visiting Lecturer at Cornell Tech. She served as IBM’s global Chief Information Officer from 2021 to 2023, leading a worldwide technology organization of more than 12,000 professionals through enterprise-wide digital transformation. Prior, she was Chief Operating Officer of IBM Research, where she led the transformation of one of the world’s largest corporate research organizations. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Regeneron Pharmaceuticals and the Board of Trustees at the New York Hall of Science, and she holds faculty appointments at Yale Engineering and the Yale School of Management. She earned a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Stanford University and a B.S. in Applied Physics from Yale University.
