As director of government and community relations at Cornell Tech, Jane Swanson works with New York City public officials, agencies, and civic organizations to advance technology in the city. She also serves as the campus’s liaison to the residents, businesses, and governing body on Roosevelt Island, a robust and engaged community where she connects students, faculty, and staff with partners for collaborations, programs, and events.
Before joining Cornell Tech, Swanson served as chief of staff to former New York City Council Member Jessica Lappin. Previously, she served as the constituent services director for former New York City Council Speaker Gifford Miller.
Swanson earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Kansas and a master’s degree from George Washington University.
