Associate Professor of Computer Science Tom Ristenpart was recently awarded the 2019 Test of Time Award at the Association for Computing Machinery’s (ACM) Conference on Computer and Communications Security (CCS) for the 2009 paper “Hey, You, Get Off of My Cloud: Exploring Information Leakage in Third-Party Compute Clouds.”

In his paper, Ristenpart and his team showed that the use of third-party cloud providers can lead to new security vulnerabilities.

The Test of Time Award is an award given annually by the ACM Special Interest Group on Security, Audit and Control (SIGSAC). The award recognizes papers from CCS ten years prior that have had the greatest impact on security research and practice over the past decade.
