Leading experts in cryptography research, including Jacobs Technion-Cornell Institute professor Ari Juels, have come together to found the first Cryptography Advisory Board to provide solutions for cloud security.

The new board was assembled by Skyhigh Networks, a firm that analyzes the risks of cloud applications and helps companies build security strategies.

Security is one of the major concerns for companies considering moving data to the cloud, and firms increasingly want to protect their files with encryption services. Composed of world-renowned cryptography researchers, the Cryptography Advisory Board will advise Skyhigh Networks to leverage academic breakthroughs for more open, functional, and secure application of security principles to enable the wider adoption of cloud services.

Professor Juels told Information Week that rather than invent technologies from scratch, the board wants to make sure businesses are incorporating solutions properly and rigorously into their products.
