The Institute of Artificial Intelligence for Digital Health invites you to attend its monthly seminar series, featuring Associate Professor Sean Lam Shao Wei.

This session explores how systems modelling and integrated data platforms are driving healthcare AI innovation in Singapore. Drawing on health systems use cases; Dr. Sean will show how modelling complex operations and leveraging shared data have enabled data-driven improvements from the frontline to the system level. He will also introduce a tiered collaboration framework that matches problem complexity with solution approaches, empowering operational teams to manage simpler challenges while engaging modelling and AI experts for strategic transformation. Together, these examples illustrate how connecting systems enables sustainable and scalable healthcare impact.

Speaker Bio

Associate Professor Sean Lam Shao Wei holds a PhD and a master’s in industrial and systems engineering from the National University of Singapore. He is Deputy Director and Head (Data Science) at the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre, where he leads efforts in health systems innovation and analytics. Sean is part of the Health Services and Systems Research Program and the SingHealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute, and a Faculty Fellow at Singapore Biodesign. With over 100 international publications and numerous national and international awards, his work integrates systems modelling, data science, and AI to enhance healthcare operations, policy, and patient outcomes across Singapore’s health system.
