As senior director of human resources, Evelyn Gordon is responsible for the leadership and administration of all aspects of the human resources function at Cornell Tech.
Before joining Cornell Tech, Gordon served as director of human resources and HR business partner for Indiana University East, a regional campus of Indiana University. Previously, she was interim director of human resources at Central State University, a historically Black university in Wilberforce, Ohio. During her tenure there, she held several roles, including administrative assistant, HR analyst, and employee benefits manager.
Gordon earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a dual emphasis in counseling psychology and industrial‑organizational psychology, as well as a master of education in higher education administration from Central State University. She also holds two senior‑level certifications: the Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional and the Senior Professional in Human Resources certification from the Human Resource Certification Institute.
Gordon enjoys pursuing her many passions and hobbies. She owns about 50 pairs of glasses and strives daily not to make them her entire personality.
