DAVID TISCH: Four years in, it's been amazing to watch the impact that the students have after they leave here. The award winners, the spin-outs, they're hiring from within New York, they're building their companies in New York, and a lot of them are focused on ideas that can impact the New York community. VIVEK SUDARSAN: Prior to Cornell Tech, I didn't know if the New York City tech ecosystem had the same luster that it does now. ANNA MCGOVERN: We're bringing together people from all different backgrounds engaging with experiential curriculum, and kind of spitting them back out into this amazing city. TISCH: The campus here is beautiful, it's both in the heart of New York City, but also removed enough so that the students feel like they have their own campus, but are still attached to everything that New York City has to offer. SUDARSAN: I think that Cornell Tech will become the central hub for tech talent and innovation on the East Coast. OMRI SASS: I found my job through an alumnus who came to give critique of a project I was working on, and we hit it off really quickly. Six interviews later, I had a job that I love. ADEBISI OJE: When I was interviewing, I knew exactly what to expect from industry leaders cause we were always on campus and knew how to get comfortable with them. I had been critiqued so many times already. I, you know, I wasn't fazed by anything. There's just no way I think I would have been successful at Microsoft if not for Cornell Tech. MCGOVERN: In terms of challenges I faced post grad, I think that it's really all about being able to collaborate and work with people from all different backgrounds with all different levels of experience. As a product manager at Oscar Health, I'm constantly relaying information between business stakeholders, the engineers that I work with, the designers that I work with. My Product Studio experience at Cornell Tech was a mini simulation of that. SUDARSAN: Having a Cornell Tech degree has been incredibly helpful in starting our own company, whether it's talking to other companies in the city, or trying to create partnerships, or even working with investors. We're an AI startup, so the machine learning emphasis at Cornell Tech was a huge part of, how we actually built and designed our product, and we still consult with Cornell Tech professors to help us grow and improve our product. RENEE ESSES: After graduating from Cornell Tech, I did the backslash Art fellowship, where I worked with an artist and another Cornell Tech alum on an art piece that involved technology. Being at Cornell Tech made me realize that it was possible to work in technology in any field and that included the arts. SUDARSAN: I would recommend Cornell Tech to a student who has an entrepreneurial mindset to begin with. Who's somebody who cares about creating impact in the world using technology. OJE: You will be challenged. You will not be traditional. MCGOVERN: There's opportunities to work with companies in the fall with Product Studio. There's opportunities in the spring to get critique and feedback from industry experts. And by the end of the year you've built a huge network right here, and you've got a lot of opportunity going forward.
