EMMANUEL: Both my parents worked in the tech industry, but I didn't quite understand what it was. I just knew that it had some magical element to it and I really wanted to dive further into that. COHEN-TAL: I was looking for a graduate program to deepen my technical skills and computer science to build products, to use technology, to create things, and bring to life ideas. Cornell Tech was just a perfect fit for that. CONTI: One of the core tenets of Cornell Tech is that technology is more of a horizontal than a vertical. It is touching, and will only continue to touch, every industry. My background is in mechanical engineering and my experience was with the aviation and defense companies, which move very slowly. I wanted to be in a place that was still on the cutting edge of technology, but more digitally focused, which moves at a much faster pace. SUE: Cornell tech stood out as the place where I can learn the technical skills to apply them into the healthcare world, creating products to more efficiently review cases and diagnose cancer. To give patients that peace of mind is extremely impactful and meaningful to me. COHEN-TAL: What sets a Cornell Tech alumni apart is the ability to think broadly and holistically about a product, about a solution, and about your role as part of a bigger team. EMMANUEL: Thinking back of the classmates that I had, the one word that stands out is 'leaders'. CONTI: When I went to Cornell Tech, my goal was to have an impact, move quickly, learn fast, and be in an environment that encouraged that. Reflecting on where I am now, I can say I'm there. Cornell Tech was my bridge to get there.
