Interested in Health Tech but unsure of your technical background? As you prepare to apply to our rigorous computer science-based master’s program, you may be interested to learn about an exciting new opportunity to build on your technical knowledge.
The curriculum at Cornell Tech consists of advanced level technical coursework designed for digital pioneers who believe in technology’s power for impact and change and want to learn how to create it. Tech Prep ensures that students have an adequate background in computer science and related mathematics before being admitted to the Health Tech program at Cornell Tech.

Cost of Program:
While Tech Prep is a valuable resource for students interested in enhancing their computer science skills, it is not a credit-bearing or certificate program. No Cornell tuition is charged for Tech Prep, nor is any Cornell credit, certificate, or degree awarded for it (no academic transcript of work in the Tech Prep program is provided from Cornell)..

Timeline for Tech Prep:
Tech Prep is a highly individualized, self-paced online program. Participants who wish to apply for Fall 2019 admission to the Technion-Cornell Dual Master’s Degrees in Health Tech should plan to complete the Coursera modules between mid-December and mid-March. The total length of the program can be anywhere between 1-3 months, depending on the number of modules required of an individual applicant.
- Object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms
- Functional programming
- Linear algebra
It is important to note that the above-mentioned content are requirements for many of the core courses in the Health Tech program. You will complete a sequence of six Coursera courses in these areas (i.e., courses are offered by Coursera, not by Cornell Tech) through which you will receive video instruction, read online materials, complete assignments, and take quizzes and exams all on Coursera. Periodically, a teaching assistant (TA) from Cornell Tech will conduct an independent assessment of your progress through the courses to ensure that you are on track and mastering the material.
